Sir Jonathan Ive, Marc Newson & Bono visit Sotheby’s New York ahead of (RED) Auction

NEW YORK, NY - NOVEMBER 21: Sir Jonathan Ive, Marc Newson and Bono hop into a unique red Fiat Jolly, one of the 44 extraordinary items to be sold at the (RED) Auction this Saturday, 23rd November, at Sotheby’s New York. Curated by Jony and Marc, the (RED) Auction features a collection of unique design objects – with pieces ranging from space travel and lighting design to contemporary art and rare automobiles. Proceeds from the sale will benefit The Global Fund to fight AIDS. Two entirely new pieces created by Ive and Newson feature in the Auction; A one-off ‘Leica M for (RED)’ digital camera, and a ‘(RED) Desk’. Other highlights include unique pieces by Range Rover, Hermès, Dom Pérignon, Steinway & Sons, Azzedine Alaïa and Jaeger-LeCoultre. The Fiat Jolly in which Jony, Marc and Bono are photographed has been specially liveried for the (RED) Auction, finished in red and outfitted with Jolly equipment including wicker seats and a surrey top.
