A group of flag bearers in cars and on foot travel along an unpaved road during the annual reenactment of the Great Trek, a mass migration - starting in 1835 - of more than 10,000 Boers who decided to leave their Cape colony due to economic problems, the rising conflict with the Xhosa, and an overall discontent with decisions of the English colonial authorities.
