Anne-Sophie Mutter is a Praemium Imperiale prizewinner
17 September 2019, Berlin: Akiko Yagi (l-r), wife of the Japanese ambassador, Klaus-Dieter Lehmann, president of the Goethe-Institut and representative of the Praemium Imperiale in Germany, the musician Anne-Sophie Mutter and Takeshi Yagi, Japanese ambassador, are present at the announcement of the winners of the Praemium Imperiale in the Musical Instrument Museum. Anne-Sophie Mutter is one of this year's prizewinners. The Culture Prize has been awarded since 1989 at the suggestion of the Japanese imperial family in memory of Prince Takamatsu (1905-1987). The prize money in the five categories of painting, sculpture, architecture, music and theatre/film amounts to the equivalent of 126,000 euros each.
