On June 7, a 28-year-old student had just finished dinner with his parents at the Wynwood Diner and sent them off with an Uber driver when two men approached him, one brandishing a weapon - they shot him twice in the abdomen. Frank Hammar is currently at Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. Since Hammar is an international student and has no health insurance in the U.S., friends and classmates started a GoFundMe page to help pay for his medical expenses.
