Pro-Palestinian rally on Al-Quds Day, New York City

NEW YORK, MANHATTAN – JUNE 08, 2018: Palestinians rally and waved Palestinian flags in Manhattan’s Times Square on Quds Day proceeded by a march to the Consulate General of Israel (800 2nd Ave) in solidarity with the Palestinians killed and injured on the Gaza strip #righttoresist #righttoreturn . Demonstrators demand return of the people, return of al-Quds, and return of the land. The demonstrators criticized Presidents Donald Trump’s decision to move the Israeli Embassy to Jerusalem. Since Land Day on March 30, the Palestinian people have engaged in a six-week campaign called the Great March of Return. Also a group of Orthodox Rabbis joined the rally in Times Square but did not participate in the march. Among the slogans chanted were “There is only one solution! Intifada Revolution!” “We don’t want two states! We want 48!” Quds Day, officially called International Quds Day, is an annual event held on the last Friday of Ramadan that was initiated by the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1979 to express support for the Palestinians and oppose Zionism and Israel.
